Ken Doige is the Vice President, Security at CannTrust, where he is responsible for setting the organizational security goals and to ensure full compliance with all Health Canada and other regulatory security requirements.
Ken Doige is a corporate security and emergency management professional with over 30 years of experience in corporate security sectors and law enforcement. He has personally overseen numerous significant corporate security initiatives, established and managed emergency response centres, directed teams in large-scale crowd management deployments, and commanded search and rescue operations.
In his last role as Vice President, Compliance and Risk Management with Fire & Flower, Canada’s leading independent adult-use cannabis retailer, he built security systems and an overall security and loss prevention program from the ground up.
As the former Chief Security Officer for Brookfield Renewable Energy, Ken was responsible for creating and managing corporate and operational security strategies and programs for the company’s global electricity generation, transmission, and distribution portfolio.
Ken is a former officer with the Toronto and York Regional Police Services. He served for 10 years as the Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC Toronto Country Council) Vice Chair, and he is a Council for Security Executives Advisory Board past member. Ken is a Commercial Real Estate Financial District Security Group founding member and the PATH-Comm (Radio Communications Interoperability Project) Steering Committee inaugural chair and founder.
Ken played a significant role in the 2010 Toronto G20 summit private sector security response design and implementation. Ken’s efforts were recognized, in writing, by the United States President.
Further to his experience as a lecturer, public speaker, and teacher, Ken is a certified emergency management instructor for the province of Ontario and a former George Brown College faculty and Executive Committee member for its School of Emergency Management.
